TTY and Relay Services

All Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) are equipped with TTY equipment to communicate with callers who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have speech disabilities. We also support IP-Relay and Video Relay services.

How it Works

Voice Carry-Over (VCO)

Allows a person who is hard of hearing but prefers to use their own voice to speak directly to the call-taker and receive the call-taker's response in text.

Hearing Carry-Over (HCO)

Allows a person who can hear but prefers to use text to communicate to type their message and hear the call-taker's response.
